Yala Peak Climbing

Yala Peak Climbing

Yala Peak Climbing

Yala Peak Climbing is a wonderful trip in Nepal's Langtang region. It offers stunning views of the Manaslu range, Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Naya Kang, Ganesh Himal range, Shishapangma, and Gangchempo Himal ranges. The trip includes a trek through the Langtang Valley, known for its beautiful natural scenery and wildlife, such as the Snow Leopard and Red Panda. Before starting the climb, many climbers spend time at the Kyanjin Monastery to acclimate to the high altitude.

Yala Peak climbing is an easy ascent that does not require a climbing permit. It is perfect for trekkers and climbers who want to reach a Himalayan summit in a short amount of time and with limited mountaineering experience. The peak is not frequently climbed and is often used as a warm-up for tackling Naya Kanga on the other side of the Kyanjin Gompa Valley.

Trip Highlights & Attractions

A wonderful two-week adventure trekking through Langtang National Park in Nepal concludes with an ascent of the relatively non-technical 5500-meter-high Yala Peak, located near the Tibetan border and northeast of Kyangin Gompa (3870m).

The trek to Yala Peak takes you through farmlands, villages, forests, and rivers. Along the way, you'll encounter beautiful forests of Rhododendrons, Pines, and Bamboo, as well as various rare flowers. As you continue, you'll reach the narrow gorge of the Langtang River and then ascend to the alpine grasslands of Langtang (3500m) and Kyanjin Gumba (3800m). Here, you'll witness yaks grazing with the snowy peaks of Langtang Ri, Langtang Lirung, Dorjee Lakpa, and more in the background. Throughout the trek, you can explore the Langtang National Park, which is home to different groups of Tamangs. After acclimatizing at Tserko-re and exploring the glacier, you'll hike to the Base Camp (4800m), which offers stunning views of peaks such as Lantang Lirung (7246m), Lenpo Gang (7083m), and Dorje Lakpa (6990m).
