Lumbini Tour

Lumbini is the sacred birthplace of Lord Buddha, the harbinger of peace, in Nepal in 623 B.C. This tour in the Kapilvastu district is a significant pilgrimage site, boasting 62 archaeological sites that depict various events from Buddha's life. Included in the tour is the Mayadevi temple, featuring ancient relics from the 3rd to the 7th century B.C., such as the idol of Mayadevi and the Birthmarker stone. This revered site has been recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The Birth Marker stone accurately designates Lord Buddha's birth site. In 249 BC, Emperor Ashoka inscribed and erected the Ashoka Pillar just behind and to the west of the Mayadevi Temple. This pillar and its inscription are not just historical artifacts, but living evidence of Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Close to the Ashoka Pillar lies an ancient and sacred Pushkirini Lake, it is believed that Mayadevi bathed here before giving birth to Buddha.
